Ngā Pātuitanga | Our Supporters and Partners

The Eisdell Moore Centre is a national research centre for hearing and balance disorders in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Hosted by the University of Auckland, we bring together researchers, clinicians and communities to conduct multidisciplinary research.

Supported by the Hearing Research Foundation

The Hearing Research Foundation of NZ was established in 2014 and assumes the function and role of supporting hearing research in New Zealand that was previously held by the Deafness Research Foundation (Inc).

The Deafness Research Foundation (Inc) has been in existence for over 50 years beginning as a dream of the late Sir Patrick Eisdell Moore to support deafness research that would transform clinical practice in otology.  The Foundation has invested substantially in building hearing research capability around New Zealand. It has contributed significantly to the growth of research groups in Auckland, Christchurch and Dunedin, provided support for the career development of many scientists and has provided PhD scholarships that have provided training for numerous young scientists that have moved on to take up positions in New Zealand and around the world.

The Eisdell Moore Centre is very grateful to the Hearing Research Foundation for their continued support and for funding the research activity of the Centre.

Our Stakeholders

The Eisdell Moore Centre has strong partnerships with a number of community organisations that are dedicated to helping those with hearing and balance impairment across New Zealand.

These partnerships enable outreach programmes where our research findings can be communicated to whānau that are affected by hearing and balance disorders.  By working with these organisations the Centre can also help promote strategies for preventing and reducing hearing and balance impairment among
New Zealanders.
