Ngā Whainga Pūtea | Funding Opportunities

The Eisdell Moore Centre has launched a new funding strategy for 2022 to 2026, which will deliver our mission: “Enabling a national, transdisciplinary research effort that will deliver innovative solutions to provide hearing and balance health to all communities in Aotearoa and the wider Pacific region so they can thrive.”

We are focused on supporting the development of transdisciplinary approaches and the co-creation of research; on building collaborations across disciplines and with our Māori, Pacific Island, and Deaf and hard-of-hearing communities, as well as with patients with balance disorders; on enhancing our Māori and Pacific research capabilities; and on developing our future research leaders.

The main funding round is scheduled to take place in May 2026. Depending on the applicants, there may be another small round in October 2026

The May funding round will include:

  1. Research Fellow Support Grants
  2. Stage I and Stage II Grants
  3. Travel grants
  4. The Dianne McCarthy Travel Fellowship

More details and submission deadlines will be available in early 2026
